VIDEO GAME TAXONOMY & ONTOLOGY
Built taxonomy and ontology for tagging and categorizing video game concepts related to storytelling and narrative. Using a corpus analysis to validate terms, we created a schema and controlled vocabulary upon which we based our taxonomy. The taxonomy and ontology allows users to discover video game titles based on their narrative, mood, and story-related concepts, instead of only administrative descriptions such as platform and rating.
Metadata Virtual Reality User Study
The Game Research (GAMER) Group at the University of Washington created a video game metadata schema (VGMS) to preserve information about video games. As virtual reality devices and games gain in popularity, there was a need to determine whether additional metadata should be added to the schema to preserve information about virtual Reality Games.
EPA Records Management
As a records management intern with the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), I helped the PCB Program, which is a small program with limited resources, manage their records by developing work flows for determining records schedules. I also created an interactive map visualization to increase accountability for that department.
